One thing that I really love about shooting weddings is that even though they are generally “the same” with ceremony/pictures/reception/food every single one is different in the way they approach that concept. What makes them even more unique is when the bride and groom attach their personalities directly to the entire theme of the events happening. If you remember from Mary and Steve’s engagement shoot they brought a couple of ukes along and I said they were into music; they took that to the next level for the wedding. I’m not even going to try to name the instruments that were out and being played by pretty much anyone in attendance but it made for one awesome day. Music was involved so much that Steve himself (along with some accompaniment) played Mary down the aisle. That’s right ladies; Steve was at the bottom of the aisle behind the cello playing while Mary was escorted down by her father. Throughout the reception as well different groupings would hop onto the stage and bust out into another song which created an enjoyable atmosphere for anyone there.
My safety was put at extreme risk during Mary and Steve’s first dance and memories of when I was probably between 5-10 came flying back. Traditionally (locally anyway, I’m not sure how far the tradition spreads) at an Italian wedding during the first dance money is thrown at the bride and groom for good luck, all of the children in attendance then rush the dance floor and collect the money. Kids don’t look for photographers when there is money on the line and ripe for the picking.
Thanks for such an awesome day guys and for putting up with the rain any time we tried to go outside!
These are absolutely beautiful!
