Part 3 is coming at you quick and speedy. This one actually covers two separate nights but the same location. I’ve been trying to capture that majestic Hawaiian sunset but have failed miserably on three separate occasions. The first time the sun was already down by the time we made it to the location (the colours still in the sky were amazing and seen in the first two shots below), the second and third time it hid behind some overcast/vog filled sky. The third time it actually looked clear until the sun was approaching the horizon and boom – horrible horrible finish. So behold, Part 3, featuring two attempts at capturing the sunset at the same location.
The clues:
1. we’re on the Big Island
2. one of the best photo op places for the sunset (you’ll find a lot of similar shots/setups)
3. if the A Team were cruising around this would be where they’d end up
Remember all the clues lead you to the final answer, not just one of them, although some are bigger clues than others (some just sort of help and the round about way will come with the reveal).
Be sure to check out and guess for Part 1 and Part 2 (at time of writing this one of the posts does not have a correct guess).
(correct answers will be listed at the end of the adventure)
Where Are We – Day 4
i was going to try and be nice cause you guys are on your honeymoon and all…but i hate you both for being there. although we did get some sun today.
hope all is well!
After some research, I’ve come to the conclusion that these were taken in or near Pu`uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park..?
…this is fun AND I’m learnin’ ….
FYI, the A-Team reference messed me up a bit. Then I read up on Pu`uhonua o Honaunau and understood… nice one!
They are supposed to be fun and a learning experience – but… not Pu’uhonua O Honaunau (you’re on the right side of the island though).
Okie Dokie…. guess number 2….
Anaeho’omalu Bay, Kona Coast….?
And here you are always saying that you don’t do scenery well. These shots are awesome!! My guess is also going to be Anaehoomalu Bay on the Kona Coast. All this googling is giving me a wonderful education on Hawaii! By the time I get to go there myself I’ll know all the great places to go!
Beautiful shots Curt!
